2016 OOHS Track & Field Fundraisers
Sunday March 6, Mattress Sale Fundraiser, OOHS Commons, 10am-5pm
Get the Word out by Joining our FACEBOOK EVENT HERE AND INVITING SOME FRIENDS!
We are going to partner with the OOHS Band this year and are working with a new mattress sale company. The more people that hear about his event the better and our team will make money off people who say they know a track & field student, while band referrals will make money off their customers. We’ll split any walk-ins and if we sell 40, 60, or 80 mattresses we get some extra money that we’ll split as well. In my opinion, it’s a WIN-WIN for potentially two of the biggest organizations in our school.
People need new mattresses every 7-10 years, so simply ask your family and friends if they are thinking about getting a new one and if they are, have them buy high quality mattresses from us for a great price! This new company can deliver to Anywhere in the United States, so think and ask everyone! Olentangy’s baseball team sold around 40 mattresses made $4000 off this event last weekend, so thats our goal, to make money like that!
Every Student will get $25 for anyone who buys a mattress and refers to them by name.
Saturday March 12th, Orange “Out the Door” 5k, Start/Finish in front of Stadium, 9am
This is our most successful fundraiser and we need a lot of help to pull it off each year. The main way you can help is by finding a event sponsor for the race. Think of local companies. We will also be offering a space on race day for independent distributors as well to set up a booth for $75, so if you know someone who sells products and would like the space that morning, please have them contact Megan Corbitt at email@example.com
In addition to sponsors, we just need people to run and make the event feel like a big event. We’ve had over 200 each year and I’d like to see 300 participants this year, its ok if people walk the whole thing. Please spread the word on social media with a link to registration and to anyone else who you think might be interested. All information is on our website: www.runolentangyorange.com
Chipotle Fundraiser: Tuesday March 15th 4:30-8:30pm-POLARIS Location
The Chipotle on 23 can’t take us this season, but we’re looking into a fundraiser at the Polaris location…will let you know details when we get them. Basically, buy and eat Chipotle and we get 50% of the proceeds!
Saturday March 26th, Easter Egg Hunt, Pioneer Stadium, 11am-1pm
Adventure Church offered a generous donation to our program if we would partner with them on their annual Easter Egg Hunt at Pioneer Stadium. I realize many people will be out of town for Spring break and it is the day before Easter, but we’ll need 15-20 student volunteers that day. They set up inflatables for kids to jump on, and our students will wear something that shows they are with the track team and the church said they’d ask people to consider donating to the team the day of as well. Anyway, students will be helping with the kids and the egg hunt, so if you’re in town and free, please come help out and if you have little siblings maybe they’d want to participate in the egg hunt as well! We’ll send out a sign up genius in a week or two, to get volunteers.
Fleet Feet Shoe Rewards Program
Every pair of shoes that you buy at Fleet Feet off Polaris, they donate $10 back to our program. You also get 20% off of anything in the store, just for saying you are a member of OOHS Track & Field!
Lastly, a simple way to raise money is to ask for donation from generous people who want to give to a program like ours. I realize many people want to know what the money will go for. If you know someone who wants to donate to specific items, I can give them a whole list to choose from and put their money directly towards those items. We have needs in a growing program like ours and more importantly, we want to have the training equipment to help us become one of the best programs in the State. Every Pole Vault pole, every shot put, every hurdle cost us money. Training wise we wants a 70m roll out runway to sprint on in the halls next winter. Plus, we want to have money to buy things like “Champions” t-shirts and varsity jacket patches when we win Championships!
